Why do the arts matter (1).png

My mission? To make the arts accessible to everyone.

Growing up, I was the artsy kid. I may have been picked last in gym, and I may have dozed off in science, but my eyes lit up the second I stepped foot in a dance studio, or when I sat down with my flute.

In my 22 years, I've been blessed with a community that values and supports the arts, teachers and mentors that have invested in me wholeheartedly, and parents who would move mountains if it meant making these arts opportunities available to me. As I grew up and taught dance, flute, volunteered with my church's children's choir, worked with kids in the foster system, taught at middle school theater camps, and more, I've realized that the opportunities, resources, and privileges I've had in my life aren't the case for many.

So what am I going to do? Meet people where they're at. I'm bringing the arts to everyone, because I know the value that they have and how they can change a life.

To explore the value of the arts deeper, I launched my podcast, Amplify the arts, in January of 2021. I've had the joy of speaking with a variety of artists and art lovers, learning all about how the arts shape people's lives and make the world a better, more inclusive place.

In July of 2021, I launched my official line for Amplify the Arts over at RedBubble, with all the proceeds going to fund numerous programs, scholarships, and organizations that help amplify the arts in the lives of those who need them the most.
